And there is also the MidWeek's Online Stacy Kamano special. It contains some realy cool photos.
It may not be written in their job descriptions, but the
women of 'Baywatch Hawaii' have a certain image to
maintain. And that image, they said, is not of supermodels
or trendy-thin actresses.
'This is an athletic show,' said Brandy Ledford, who plays
Dawn Masterton. 'No one's going to buy (the fact) that
we’re lifeguards if we weighed 100 pounds.'
That means the actresses have to do more than just watch
what they eat. They have to work out. With the physical
demands of filming 'Baywatch' — swimming, running on the
sand, rescuing drowning victims — staying in shape during
the five-month shooting season is just part of the job.
'We get a really good workout while we’re working,'
Ledford said, adding that working 15-hour days five days a
week disrupts their individual off-duty fitness schedules.
'It’s actually easier (staying in shape) during the off-season
because you have more time on your hands,' said Hawaii
cast member Stacy Kamano, who plays Kekoa Tanaka. 'And
you’re not exhausted.' ...

Simmone Mackinnon, Brandy Ledford, and Stacy Kamano dance in a 'Baywatch Hawaii' staffer's music video.
...This hip-hop aficionado is hoping to release his music to the masses. His
latest single, 'Hottie Boombalottie,' is already a hit on the
'Baywatch Hawaii' set, where he is a post-production contributing editor.
'Oh, believe me,' said Simmone Mackinnon, who plays lifeguard Allie Reese,
'once you hear it, you can’t get it out of your head...'
...Keffer and about 30 others spent two days last week filming
the video for his new song in various spots around Waikiki —
from the Hilton Hawaiian Village to the Wave Waikiki.
Mackinnon, Brandy Ledford (who plays Dawn Masterton) and
Hawaii actress Stacy Kamano, who plays Kekoa Tanaka,
served as the titular 'hotties...'
...A native of Minneapolis, Keffer moved to Los Angeles five
years ago. He joined the “Baywatch” team in 1997, editing
the show’s video montages, filler transitions, main title
sequences and special-effect shots.
The video, which he will edit himself, begins with an
average-guy Keffer watching “Baywatch Hawaii” at home.
Charmed by one of the lifeguards, he is suddenly
transported to a beach in Hawaii, where he’s walking on the
sand with Kamano. “It’s a really, really loose story line,” he
said ... more
'Baywatch Hawaii' — the most-watched syndicated
action-adventure show on television — will begin filming its
second season in Hawaii May 8 even though the show
doesn’t yet have a firm commitment from its distributor.
And the show is jockeying for a position in prime time here.
Greg Bonann, the show’s executive producer, said he will
start writing scripts as early as next week for the second
season of the show’s filming in Hawaii. They’ve moved
filming earlier in the year after this year’s July-December
schedule resulted in run-ins with bad weather ... more

Brandy Ledford couldn't have come better
prepared to her role as lifeguard Dawn Masterson
on the syndicated 'Baywatch Hawaii' (check
local listings). We're not talking Julliard or
Ledford, a self-described ''water baby,'' was not asked to act when she
auditioned, but she did have to swim.
'They flew me down from Vancouver to meet with the head guy at the company
that produced it, and I said 'Tell me what the show's about.' They said, 'Well,
its in Hawaii.' Okay, that made it a lot different. And then they had me swim' ...

Alexandra Paul has been busy and is set to begin filming her latest film, 'Double Exposure' this month. The film's location is New Zealand! We will give more updates on the status of the movie as information becomes available.
David Hasselhoff stands on the steps of a lifeguard
stand during the shooting of a scene at the Hilton Hawaiian Village in Waikiki.
...For 18 weeks, Bonann has supervised the almost daily filming
of the popular ocean rescue adventure show. The scenes
shot at the UH-Manoa will appear in a future segment of
'Baywatch Hawaii.'
It’s a season of change for 'Baywatch.' First there was the change in location - from their longtime
home in Santa Monica, Calif., to Hawaii, to freshen up story
lines. Now, the show’s only big name, David Hasselhoff, is quietly
readying to move on to another series, 'AKA Picasso.'
Hasselhoff, who has been saying for some time that he
planned to pursue other options, will star in the new
European-financed tele-vision series to be produced by
Kaleidoscope Media Group.
The producers of 'Baywatch' say Hasselhoff may come back
for some episodes next year, but won’t say how many...
New episodes will refer to Hasselhoff, putting him in
California, protecting Los Angeles beaches, Bonann said.
'We’ll make references to Mitch in the first couple of years
and, when a California lifeguard comes to Hawaii, it will be
because Mitch sends him,' Bonann said. 'We’ll keep that
persona alive' ...

Besides his role on 'Baywatch Hawaii,' Kala'i Miller is co-host on the talent show 'Destination Stardom!' I had a chance to view the show and must admit that Kala'i is pretty good! The show is on the new network PAX. Catch it on Sundays. Please see your local TV listings for the exact time in your area.

It's difficult not to wonder about Pamela Lee Anderson and April Masini and the similarities the two share.
Both are buxom, blonde bombshells with ties to "Baywatch," and both are models-turned-actresses-turned
producers. Both are Cancers who not only share the same birthday (right down to the year!) but both drive a
silver convertible Jaguar -- one in real life (April) and Pamela on her TV show.
There's more, but suffice it to say
that both also have dated the same handsome, blue-eyed championship surfer. Kind of spooky. I wonder if they
were born in the same hospital -- do you suppose? ... Speaking of April, her protege, Kala'i Miller,
dropped into the Dixie Grill for lunch with about a dozen fire-fighting pals, who simply parked their trucks
outside. Kala'i, whom Masini got signed with the William Morris Agency, insisted on picking up the tab, though
manager Jim Hamachek discounted it substantially as he does for all firemen and cops in uniform. Kala'i is
taking a year off -- at least -- from fire-fighting to pursue a new career in Hollywood ... Miller time may have
come and gone, however. Word is that the busy April is accompanying actor Rick Yune ("Snow Falling on
Cedars") back to L.A. today and the two seem to have become more than a bit friendly ...

"Baywatch Hawaii" producer-creator Greg Bonann has been named a 2000 Gold Medallion Award winner by the International Swimming Hall of Fame based in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. The award is presented annually to a former competitive swimmer for his or her national or international achievement in the fields of science, entertainment, art, business, education or government. The recipient also must be someone whose life has served as an inspiration to youth. Sam Freas, president and CEO of the International Swimming Hall of Fame, said "Baywatch Hawaii" has made "tremendous contributions" to aquatics. Bonann is dedicating "Baywatch Hawaii's" next season -- number 11 -- to a Learn to Swim Program through the production's Camp Baywatch. "Only 25 percent of children living in Hawaii know how to swim," Bonann said. Bonann hopes to have the Learn to Swim Program start in April, use the University of Hawaii swimming pool, Oahu lifeguards as instructors and enroll 500 children the first year. As for whether "Baywatch Hawaii" will return for its 11th season that decision won't be made until later this month though Bonann is "very confidant" about the show's return.

Jason Brooks is standing half-naked in the middle of the Maunaloa Bay parking lot, talking on a cell phone
and pacing back and forth while high- and low-fiving co-workers from "Baywatch Hawaii."
Even a hundred yards away it's apparent how fit Brooks is. Wearing red shorts and shirt and no shoes,
Brooks seems as real a lifeguard as you'd find anywhere -- tan, slender at the waist, stomach muscles
defined -- except that the Southern California-raised UCLA grad is no waterman.
"I'm strictly a land athlete; if it's got a ball in it, I can do it," said Brooks, 33, the breakout star in "Baywatch
Hawaii."
"There were lots of times back home I'd go in the ocean and the water would go up my nose or my eyes
and I thought this isn't fun, so I stayed away from it."
Now that Brooks' character -- Sean Monroe -- is the leader of the fictional "Baywatch Hawaii" rescue
crew, the actor finds himself pretty much living in the ocean ... more

Jesse Spencer looked out of place, first on camera forcing a cheer for "Baywatch Hawaii" star Brooke Burns
to the finish line in a "triathlon" at Waimanalo beach.
Not to be outdone, former Playboy Playmate Donna Perry -- Miss November 1994 and Michael W. Perry's
daughter-in-law, also an extra on the show, offered to sign a picture of herself for the 16-year-old Kona surfer
who in October was attacked by a shark that mangled his right arm.
Spencer pretty much got the star treatment for an extra's role on the "Baywatch Hawaii" episode "Xterra"
filming yesterday at Waimanalo Beach. The program airs May 2 on KHON TV.
"It's not really boring or anything, but it sure takes a long time to get a scene right," said Spencer, whose arm
remains in a sling. "I was just a guy in the crowd."
Spencer, 5-5 and 112 pounds was bitten by a 10-foot tiger shark while surfing at dusk Oct. 1 at Old Airport
just north of Kona. He was invited to appear on "Baywatch" when show executives learned of Spencer's
accident in a Star-Bulletin story ... more
